REPORT OF THE SECRETARY Section E held three sessions on Thursday and Friday. None of the organizations related to this section was in session in Cleveland, but about 75 geologists attended the meeting and 27 papers were listed on the program. Edson S. Bastin, of the University of Chicago, Vice-President and Chairman of the Section, presided at the Thursday sessions, and Charles N. Gould, State Geologist of Oklahoma, was in the chair during the Friday morning session. The address of the retiring Vice-President George F. Kay of the University of Iowa, was presented Thursday afternoon. The annual dinner was greatly enjoyed by 40 geologists in the Hotel Cleveland Thursday evening. Dr. Bastin was toastmaster and called on Dean Kay, Professor J. E. Hyde of Western Reserve, Professor F. R. Van Horn of Case, Professor W. H. Hobbs of Michigan, Professor Kirtley F. Mather of Harvard, and Dr. Arthur Bevan, State . . .
